We've partnered with Stripe to provide an easy way for you to collect donations. Stripe is one of the world's leading payment providers, operating in 20 countries around the world, and is used by other companies you may have heard of, including Twitter, Kickstarter, Shopify, Salesforce, and Lyft.

Is Stripe Secure?

Stripe has been audited by an independent PCI Qualified Security Assessor (QSA) and is certified as a PCI Level 1 Service Provider. This is the most stringent level of certification available in the payments industry.

You can find detailed information about Stripe's security from their website.

How do I set up Stripe to allow my church to start accepting donations online?

  1. Within your Choyr site, click on your avatar at the top-right of the page.

  2. From the dropdown menu that appears, click Site Admin.

  3. On the left, click Stripe.

  4. Click Connect My Stripe Account, and you will be redirected to Stripe's website.

  5. On Stripe's website, you will have the option to create a new Stripe account (this will be the most common scenario), or to link your existing Stripe account to your Choyr account.
If you do not have a Stripe account already, please fill in the form with relevant information about your church and bank details. This is the bank account where donations will be sent.
If you already have a Stripe account, please log in and then authorise Choyr.

  6. Once you've authorised Choyr to access your Stripe account, you will be redirected back to Choyr. The Donations module will automatically be enabled.

  7. In order to allow people to donate to the church, you need to create a donation campaign. The steps do this are outlined in the following guide.
